The Conspirators, a new indie folk rock band with style as well as a good ear for the catchy melody, burst onto the music scene in 2008 with a collaboration with legendary Fairport Convention and highly idolised vocalist Judy Dyble. A top ten UK indie chart position was well deserved and the set the precedent of things to come. In addition the band’s eponymous track ‘Turning Green’ gave them a number one in the US independent charts.
Since then The Conspirators have flown, performing alongside artists as diverse as Ocean Colour Scene, Goldie Lookin Chain, Keith Allen and Tom Hingley (Inspiral carpets), Turning down record deal offers, one after another, and finally striking a deal with Maddie Records to release their new album.
Their new record is influenced by artists such as Love, Fairport Convention, Kate Bush and The Kinks, with a hint of early 70’s acts such as Jefferson Airplane and Neil Young, but with a modern twist.
Th The band’s debut single ‘Bubbles’, released on October 17th is a co-write and co-performance with Dodgy’s guitarist and songwriter Andy Miller.
